1. Sunita – w/o Govinda
Our very own “Chi-Chi” Govinda has made a remarkable presence for himself in Bollywood. From his dancing and acting to his comic timing, he has a carved a niche for himself and the happy-go-lucky man is still “on” with same enthusiasm and spirit that filled him years back when he took his first step in Bollywood.
Talking about his married life, the “Hero No. 1” met the love of his life Sunita and the duo tied the knot in 1987. Sunita is Govinda’s maternal uncle’s wife’s sister (complicated eh?). To make it simple, Govinda’s maternal uncle, Anand Singh was the one who gave this raw diamond to the industry. Anand launched him in his film, “Tan-Badan” and it was at the Mahurat of the film where Anand’s wife’s sister, Sunita, fell in love with the legend-in-the-making.
They have two children, Narmada (who is also planning her acting debut) and a son, Yashvardhan. In spite of all the link-ups and tie-ups that have come in Govinda’s way, Sunita has stood strong by her side and the couple has been living happily ever since.
2. Alka Kapur – w/o Shekhar Suman
The man who is only getting younger with every passing day (:p) – the actor and anchor and director is known for his television shows like “Dekh Bhai Dekh” and “Movers and Shakers”.
He has also been on the judge’s chair on shows like “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” and various series of “The Comedy Circus”.
Shekhar had taken the marriage vows with Alka Kapur on May 4, 1984 and they have been together ever since. They have been blessed with two children, Adhyayan Suman, who has already made his Bollywood debut in his father’s film, “Heartless” (has it already been released?)
The older son, Aayush, who unfortunately passed away at the age of 11 pursuant to a heart ailment.
Not many would have seen his wife often, not me at least!
3. Pooja – w/o Sunny Deol
The man with a “Dhai kilo ka hath” and the elder son of our very own Dharmendra Paji is known for his spectacular performances in “Tridev”, “Ghatak”, “Border”, “Arjun Pandit”, “Darr”, “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha”, “Apne” and many more.
Sunny Deol has always been successful in keeping a safe distance from the media glare. The actor has tied the knot with Pooja (who apparently has chosen a low profile like hubby). The couple has been blessed with two sons, Karan Deol and Rajvir Deol.
While Karan was behind the camera as the Assistant Director on the sets of “Yamla Pagla Deewana 2″, Rajvir may soon be seen on the camera, making his acting debut in Bollywood.
Well, although the actor has a successful married life, they say he shared a very strong and long relationship with the sultry beauty, Dimple Kapadia.
4. Sutapa Sikdar – w/o Irrfan Khan
One of the phenomenal actors of our time, Irrfan (he has added an additional “r” to his name, off late) has not only wooed the Bollywood industry but has also starred in Hollywood movies, making us all feel proud for his talent.
He is the man who has truly proved “You need not look beautiful but to be an actor, you need to act beautifully”.
Well, Sutapa is no new name in the industry, but it may be for many of us as she has been working behind the camera. Sutapa is a film writer and a graduate from NSD (National School of Drama).
Her acclaimed works include – as the dialogue writer of movies like “Khamoshi: The Musical”, “Supari” and “Shabd”. Irrfan married Sutapa in 1995 and the couple is having a happy married life since then.
Together, they have two children, Babil and Ayan.
