1. Abhishek and Aishwarya
Initially the couple worked in two films, “Dhai Akshar Prem ke” and “Kuch na kaho”. But it was the movie “Guru” who brought them closer.
Friendship blossomed, but there was nothing more to the relationship. Difficult to say when did the spark of romance begin, but some say it was during the shooting of song Kajarare for the movie “Bunty Aur Babli”.
Love happened and Abhishek started calling Aishwarya Number 9, as she was named number 9 in the list of most beautiful women in the world. Meanwhile, the couple starred in many movies together. The movies were “Umrao Jaan”, “Dhoom 2″ and Mani Ratnam’s “Guru”. During the making of “Guru”, the couple became less cautious of being seen together in public.
Many such speculations, and finally the wedding took place in PRATEEKSHA, Amitabh’s residence in Mumbai. It was a traditional Hindu wedding, though the whole wedding took place avoiding the papparazzi. This couple was declared Bollywood’s ultimate power couple but like many marriages, there have been rumours about tiffs and cracks in the news.
The couple after a long haul were blessed with a daughter, who was named Aradhya. As Aishwarya stopped working after her daughter, she is returning to work now that Aradhya is grown a little. However, Abhishek Bachhan goes slow paced with the films he’s getting.
Anyways, with the backing of his father Amitabh, who is an icon, and with a wife like Aishwarya, he seems to be a lucky dude.
2. Amitabh & Jaya
Amitabh and Jaya, parents of Abhishek also converted their reel romance into a real one in an exceptional way. As it was “Guru” for their kid, it was London for the parents. No, it’s not any movie, but the place London. The movie was “Zanjeer”.
The first movie they worked together in was “Guddi”. As per the name, Jaya was a real doll because of her short stature and long hair and was totally gaga over Amitji’s attitude. More so because he was the son of a renowned poet Shri Harivansh Rai Bachhan. She found him to be different and fell in love with him.
Rumours say that while working for BR Ishara’s “EK Nazar”, Big B with his tall stature also fell in love with Jaya who later in the movie, “Kabhi khushi kabhi gam” used to stand on a stool to help him tie his tie.
As per the speculations, Amitabh, Jaya and co stars had planned to go to London if “Zanjeer” got hit. It was the year 1973 when Amitabh’s parents denied his trip to London saying that he won’t leave without tying the knot with the girl who he wishes to accompany to London. Thus with Jaya’s concent and parent’s approval, the couple got married and the very same day they left for London.
So London it is, a significant source in the love story of the legendary couple Amitabh and Jaya Bachhan.
3. Riteish and Genelia
This couple knew each other even before their career started. 16-yr-old Genelia landed at the Hyderabad airport with her mom to meet a young boy from an influential Maharashtrian family. It was the year 2002 and it was the same Hyderabad Airport which initiated the couple’s meeting.
Initially, Genelia had a notion that being a chief minister’s son, Riteish will be a spoilt brat and full of attitude. So Genelia showed him attitude herself. When Riteish arrived on the terminal, he saw this tall girl, who shook hands and started looking in a different direction. The cold reaction left him wondering, as why she was behaving so awkwardly.
To Genelia’s surprise, Riteish turned out to be extremely sober and polite. The story moved forward and they became best friends off the sets. The fondness grew, but no proposals were made ever from any side.
After this brief meeting, Riteish came back to Mumbai and started missing Genelia’s company.
A 16-year-old girl and a 24-year-old boy with 8 years age difference finally fell in love and after a 9 year long relationship, got married on February 3, 2012. This was the youngest married couple of Bollywood.
